In 2001, Regina’s “La Dia de Los Muertos: Those Who Went Before” art quilt was hung in a juried show held by Thirteen Moons Gallery in Santa Fe, New Mexico. The quilt features photos of family members now deceased, so as to create an altar-like environment in which to honor them. The message “Oh spirit of beloved ones, we welcome you home. Feast with us, dance with us, sing to us of eternal life” is written in both English and Spanish.

Regina Alexandra’s “Beaches: Mothers, Fathers, Sisters, Brothers, Son” art quilt was featured in the Winter 2004 issue of Legacy Magazine, a publication that showcases various forms of art dedicated to preserving family histories, memories and legacies. The quilt features four generations of family, enjoying time at the beach. Various quotes relating to the ocean and sea, by authors such as Mother Theresa, e.e. cummings, Lord Byron, Walt Whitman and Emily Dickinson also reflect on the passage of time and its spiritual context.

“Blue Skies” is Regina’s most recent art quilt, reflecting on life after death via glimpses of both day and night skies, and quotes from Emily Dickinson (I never spoke with God, nor visited in Heaven, yet certain am I of the spot, as if a chart were given), Anton Chekhov (We shall find peace. We shall hear the angels. We shall see the skies sparkling with diamonds.), and the song “Somewhere Over the Rainbow (Someday I’ll wish upon a star and wake up where the clouds are far behind me.)”.
